My life is kept organised by my planner, and I would be lost without it. I track absolutely everything inside and it is my first go to whenever a letter comes home or an order comes in.
I’m not going to lie it takes a certain amount of discipline to keep your planner up to date, I usually review my planner each night before bed to check what is happening the following day and to ensure that any preparation has been made. I also take this time to plan my to do list for the following day.
Dates planner pages
Probably most important information stored in my planner is the numerous dates I have to remember. With two children at school, attending clubs and working I have to write down any and all appointments. I have a month view page which helps me forecast what is going over the whole month at a glance. Then on each day with my to do list I have all the appointments for the day this has more detail like pick up times or items needed. This helps me keep on top of where we all need to be and what we need.
Rent tracker planner pages
With several crafters in the shop I find it easier to track their rent payments with a tick chart. At a quick glance I can see who has made their payments and which crafters have paid in advance.
Books read planner pages
I like to keep a list of which books I have finished reading each year. My list is probably laughable to most as it seems to take me forever to finish a book, but I feel a sense of personal achievement looking at how many I have managed to finish. Ok, ok so we’re only talking about maybe 4 books, but this year I have cheated and added on any audiobooks that I have completed as well. It counts!
Health tracker planner pages – syns water
We should all try to be healthier and I find tracking health goals really helps. On a day to day basis I try to track how much water I have drunk and the number of calories consumed. These aren’t always completed however they provide a gentle reminder that I should make healthy food choices and drink more water. These could also be used to track syns or WWpoints instead.
To do list planner pages
The most obvious thing to keep in your planner is your to do list. I actually have two to do lists that I complete. One is all the tasks that need to be done in connection to the home, tasks like order medication or pay for swimming lessons. The other is all the tasks that are connected to my businesses like order Business cards or pay Etsy bill. This helps me to see at a glance what tasks I have to complete and distinguish between work and home.
Business goals planner pages
I try to give my businesses a bit of structure and direction, this is done easily by setting goals. They are only small goals in the grand scheme of things but I get a huge sense of achievement when one is met. Some of my previous goals have been to complete a specific number of orders on Etsy or to reach a certain number of page likes on Facebook. These goals and fairly easy to come up with and can be tracked through the course of the year, these goals can really help you to grow your business.
Fitness goals planner pages
In addition to the health trackers I also try to set myself some fitness goals. They could be weight goals or a specific fitness goal that you wish to achieve. Last year I really wanted to complete a 5k organised run and I found out about Parkrun (who are great for runners) and I completed a 5k in the grounds of the very pretty Belton House. Regardless of your interests of your Fitness level you can send yourself some goals even as simple as have a longer walk with the dog once a week.
Orders planner pages
This section helps me combine all my orders into one place, with orders coming in from Facebook, Etsy, the shop and website it can become difficult to track which orders need to be completed first. These pages help me track what the orders are, who they are for, their payment status and due date.
There is so much online about bullet journals and what to include for trackers. The possibilities are endless and are completely dependent on what you would most like to keep tabs on or achieve. The list above is what worked for me, I would love to hear what you keep track of and how your planner keeps you organised.
